At Orbis we are lucky to be involved with a number of exciting and important projects, which we support on a voluntary basis.
Orbis Ecology are proud to support the Devon Swift Project. We have sponsored the development of a new website and helped with the purchase of materials. This project is providing swifts, which are a Red List species, valuable nest sites in church towers across Devon. So far, the project has installed over 240 nest chambers in 10 churches, with around 14 more in the pipe-line!
We also monitor a number of bat roosts on a voluntary basis, recently we have been asked to monitor a large lesser horseshoe maternity roost near Dawlish, which is very exciting. We will provide regular up-dates on our News page.
Watch this space for details about a greater horseshoe and lesser horseshoe hibernation site in North Devon, which Orbis recently discovered and will be supporting the landowner in managing this unusual site.
