Level 2 Tree Climbing Training

The Orbis Ecology Team have been learning all about tree climbing!

The Orbis Team have been out of the office and learning a fair few new skills this week. From learning numerous new knots, to assessing the risks and making emergency plans, to how to safely manoeuvre whilst wearing many harnesses and contending with a lot ( and I mean a lot…) of rope. The team have been out and about with the amazing Hi-Line Instructors in Exeter.

At Orbis Ecology we are always keen to expand our skill base and tree climbing kept being mooted as a ‘fun’ but ‘incredibly useful’ course to look at completing. The field-based course includes learning the skills and knowledge needed to assess, plan and safety manoeuvre around the tree’s canopy and to access the tree’s crown (with the added bonus of being able to rescue a fellow tree climber if ever necessary!)

We are quite sure that by the end of the week everyone will have gained their Level 2 Award in Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue which means we can include tree climbing surveys to our ever growing ecological survey repertoire.

If you would like to contact us about your ecology survey needs please don’t hesitate to get in touch at enquiries@orbisecology.co.uk or by calling the office on 01626 638042
