Mine Hunting in North Devon – An out of office day for the team

We had a fantastic team day out in the beautiful North Devon countryside yesterday. Billie and Bryony have been volunteering with the greater horseshoe bat ringing project and we decided to go on a little adventure of our own. Billie has been busy researching and so off we went, searching out some potential mines to investigate further with the volunteer group.

After tramping through swathes of frosty woodland, icy country lanes and one amazing, beautiful old byway, we sadly didn’t find anything we can take further but we’ve crossed a few ‘maybes’ off the list. Most importantly we had a great time catching up together and the pub lunch at The Poltimore Inn was delicious. I’m already looking forward to the next scouting trip!
